Tatzucon, as a Norwegian organization, follows Norwegian Criminal Law regarding weapons and replicas in public spaces.
The Norwegian Criminal Law § 189 C states:
Illegal Armament in a Public Place. Punishable by a fine or prison time of up to one year for anyone who, in a public place, intentionally or with gross negligence carries:
a) Firearms
b) Air rifles or spring weapons
c) Weapon replicas that can easily be mistaken for actual weapons, or
d) Firearms that have been deactivated according to the Gun Law of April 20, 2029, no. 7 § 27.
The same punishment applies to anyone carrying a knife or a similar sharp object suitable for bodily harm. The prohibitions in parts a and b do not apply to firearms, knives, or other tools used for work, outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and foraging, or other respectable purposes.
Prohibited props
The following items are not allowed:
Metal or hardwood swords, knives, bayonets, cane swords, or any sharp-edged objects. Real or replica firearms. Toy guns must be easily identifiable, have no moving parts, and display a clear orange/red tip. Resin models are permitted if marked with a visible orange/red tip. Real nunchaku are not allowed, but craft-material nunchaku may be used if not swung. No explosives or chemicals, including smoke powder, sparklers, and fireworks. Bows must be unstrung.
Permitted props
Craft material props are allowed if they are safe and non-threatening to others. Props must be less than 2 meters (200 cm) tall and easily portable. Items requiring two or more people to carry are not permitted.
What is considered dangerous?
Dangerous props include, but are not limited to: Sharp Edges or Spikes: Any edge that can easily cut or damage people or property.
Projectiles: Props that can fire projectiles are not allowed. Nerf or water toys are acceptable if unloaded and handled responsibly.
Clotheslining: Items like wire or string that could injure others during normal use. Any additional hazards identified by Tatzucon staff that may endanger individuals or property will be addressed.
